Learn About IEH Speak to Our Team
Who We Are

Specialists in ergonomics, occupational hygiene and workplace health risk management.

IEH was originally established by the Institute of Occupational Medicine (IOM) in 2012. After nearly a decade of collaboration and partnership, IEH became an independent organisation in December 2021 while continuing to maintain strong professional ties with IOM.

Today, IEH continues to focus on ergonomics and hygiene, supporting clients with innovative thinking, practical risk management and professional capability building. Our work helps organisations create safer, healthier, more productive and more sustainable workplaces.

We serve organisations that need more than generic workplace safety advice. Our strength lies in understanding how people interact with their work, how exposure to health hazards occurs, and how practical controls can be implemented within real operating environments.

Our Purpose

To create a world of quality work and healthy life for all by providing strategic and innovative solutions for good ergonomics and hygiene.

Our Identity

What Our Logo Represents

The IEH logo reflects our identity as an institute focused on people, work, health and progress. The strong blue wordmark represents professionalism, trust and technical depth, while the dynamic orbital symbol expresses movement, innovation and the interaction between people, work systems and the environment.

The circular lines suggest integration and continuous improvement. This is central to IEH’s work: we do not look at workplace health risks in isolation, but consider how human factors, occupational hygiene, workplace systems and organisational needs come together.

Blue for trust and expertise The navy blue reflects IEH’s professional, scientific and evidence-informed approach to workplace health.
Orange and yellow for energy and innovation The warm accent colours represent progress, practical solutions and our commitment to improving quality of work and life.
Orbiting forms for people, systems and environments The circular movement symbolises the connected relationship between workers, tasks, tools, workplaces and organisational systems.

Our Mission

Quality work and healthy life for all.

IEH’s mission is to create a world of quality work and healthy life for all by providing strategic and innovative solutions for good ergonomics and hygiene.

We deliver this mission through consultancy, training, research-informed practice and professional activities that help organisations manage workplace health risks more effectively.

Quality Work

We support work that is safe, healthy, efficient, productive and fulfilling by improving the design of tasks, systems and environments.

Healthy Life

We help prevent harmful exposure to workplace hazards and promote better protection of human health at work and beyond.

Professional Capability

We train professionals, workers and organisations to recognise risks, apply good practices and sustain improvements over time.

How We Create Value

Practical, evidence-informed and people-centred.

Our work is designed to bridge technical expertise and operational practicality. We aim to provide advice that clients can understand, implement and sustain.

1

Technical Depth

We apply ergonomics, human factors and occupational hygiene principles to identify root causes of workplace health and performance risks.

2

Operational Relevance

We consider real work conditions, worker behaviour, process constraints and business requirements when recommending solutions.

3

Capability Building

We help clients build internal knowledge through training, communication and practical tools that support long-term workplace health management.

Our Approach

From understanding the workplace to delivering practical solutions.

IEH projects are structured to help clients move from risk awareness to risk control, while keeping recommendations aligned with the way work is actually performed.

Understand the Work

We begin by understanding the client’s operations, processes, work tasks, workforce profile, exposure concerns and organisational objectives.

Assess the Risks

We assess relevant ergonomics, hygiene and workplace health risk factors using suitable qualitative, semi-quantitative or quantitative methods.

Recommend Controls

We provide practical recommendations that may include engineering controls, administrative controls, work redesign, training, monitoring or management system improvements.

Support Improvement

We support clients with reports, briefings, training and follow-up guidance so that improvements can be understood, implemented and sustained.
