Rob Aitken (Honorary Director)

Rob has worked at the IOM for more than 35 years and has been a member of IOM’s management board for more than 12 years. In addition to his role in Singapore, he is Director of Strategic Consulting at IOM and he leads IOM’s work programme on nanotechnology risk which currently encompasses SAFENANO, more than ten major European Commission FP7 framework projects and a series of major public reviews for Government Agencies. His main scientific interests are in exposure and risk assessment of fine particles and he has contributed more than 50 publications on these issues.
He is on the advisory board of several industrial, academic and government organisations including the Institute of Nanotechnology (ION) and the Integrated Nano-science and Commodity Exchange (INSCX). In addition he has been Principal UK Expert on Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) issues to ISO 299 Nanotechnologies and a member of OECD Working Party on Nanomaterials. He was until recently a Member of the European Commission, Nanotechnologies, Materials and new Production Technologies Program Expert Advisory Group. He holds the title of Honorary Professor at Heriot Watt University in Edinburgh.

Richard Graveling (Honorary Director)

Dr Richard Graveling is Principal Ergonomics Consultant with the UK Institute of Occupational Medicine and a Visiting Ergonomics Consultant with IOM Singapore. He has over 35 years of experience in ergonomics and human factors covering a wide range of issues including musculoskeletal disorders (backs, upper limb, lower limb); psychosocial risks and stress, heat stress and strain, workplace design, and the ergonomics of PPE. This work has taken him into many industries including coal mining, offshore oil, foods and beverages (including whisky production), power generation (coal, nuclear), finance and commerce. He also has extensive experience working for the emergency services (fire, police, ambulance, mines rescue, sea rescue).
As part of his work he provides consultancy services, advising directly on the reduction of workplace risks; and research services, helping to develop and improve our understanding of workplace hazards.
He has worked with government agencies at both UK and EU-level, contributing to the development of policies and guidance on workplace issues such as manual handling, psychosocial risks and stress, and heat stress/strain.
In 2013-2014 he was President of the Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (IEHF) of which he is a Fellow and Chartered Ergonomics and Human Factors Expert. In his time as a senior executive of the IEHF he helped to steer it towards a Royal Charter which it was awarded in 2014.
He is a member of a number of British (BSI), European (CEN) and International (ISO) Standards committees and working groups, actively involved in the development of ergonomics standards including ISO 26800 on ergonomics principles.
Zephan Chan (Director & Head Occupational Hygiene)

Zephan has extensive working experience as an occupational health, safety and environmental consultant to various industries and public organizations in Singapore and the region. He has provided consultancy support in the development of and implementation of safety and health and environmental management systems, risk assessment and management. He is an ACTA certified WSH trainer and developer and has developed and taught a range of Ministry of Manpower accredited courses including bizSAFE.
He contextualised and now teaches Occupational Health and Safety for the University of Western Australia in Singapore and has served as an associate lecturer with the University of Newcastle in the BEnvOHS degree. Zephan has industrial experience in a range of sectors including:

Alex Tse (Director, Hong Kong Office)

Dr Tse Chun Kuen, Alex is a seasoned health, safety and environment practitioner, educator, mentor and training professional.
He has over 30 years of solid experience in occupational health, safety and environment (HSE). He started his career as a frontline HSE practitioner in different universities in Hong Kong then later moved on to management and teaching of various programmes related to HSE as well as providing consultancy service in HSE. Dr. Tse is a Registered Safety Officer, Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner, and Certified Industrial Hygienist.
Vernon Lee (Head Business Development)

Vernon is Head of Business Development with IEH where he is dedicated to create a solid foundation for the company to grow in the mid to long term horizon. He is a forward-looking business development executive with over 25 years of management experience with global brands such as Disney, Hasbro and Nickelodeon amongst others. His experience includes spending some time in China and heading regional offices in Asia. Prior to joining IEH, he was the Director of Viacom’s Location Based Experiences (LBE) business across Asia and created exciting story-telling live experiences for families and kids.
Vernon is a graduate from Nanyang Business School, Singapore and is married with 4 kids.
Huang Xian (Head Ergonomics Team)

Huang Xian is an Ergonomist and Occupational Hygienist from IEH. She has an extensive working experience on occupational health, safety and environmental consultant to various industries and public organizations in Singapore and the surrounding region.
During the past years of work, Huang Xian has provided consultancy support for a range of sectors including: oil and gas industry, construction, manufacturing (flavour and fragrances, food, electronics, and semi-conductor), retail, and hospitality.
Huang Xian is an M.Sc graduate from National University of Singapore and worked as a research engineer on ambient air pollution before joining IEH as Occupational Hygienist.
Leu Yu Rui (Occupational Hygiene Manager)

Yu Rui is an Occupational Hygienist with IEH. Since joining IEH, he has provided occupational hygiene consultancy services for a wide array of sectors globally including the pharmaceutical industry, agricultural industry, facilities management, utilities, technology industry, printing, woodworking, and manufacturing.
Yu Rui is a graduate from the Technische Universität München and had worked on several projects involving the synthesis and likelihood of release of Engineered Nanoparticles.
Mohamed Jufri (Associate Partner, WSH Consultant)

Jufri is a Safety Consultant in Singapore, having built up technical safety expertise in various industries such as construction, manufacturing (semiconductor, cleanroom and food), logistics, hospitality and biotechnology.
In the area of Occupational Safety and Health, he has developed procedures and safety programmes with special emphasis on ISO 45001, formerly OHSAS 18001.
In the area of operations & productivity, he has assisted many companies in the review of their operations and processes. As part of his consulting to companies he also provides assistance to improve work flow and processes.
