Task Details

Record the task being assessed, the posture observed and any relevant notes.

Assessment record

Group A – Neck, Trunk and Leg Analysis

Score neck, trunk and legs. The tool uses REBA Table A and adds the load/force score to obtain Score A.

Steps 1 to 6

Step 1 – Neck position

Select the neck posture and apply adjustment factors where relevant.

Neck score: 1

Step 2 – Trunk position

Select the trunk posture and apply adjustment factors where relevant.

Trunk score: 1

Step 3 – Legs

Score leg support and apply knee-flexion adjustments.

Leg score: 1

Step 5 – Load / Force score

Select the load/force score and add one point if there is shock or rapid build-up of force.

Load / force score: 0

Group B – Arm and Wrist Analysis

Score upper arm, lower arm and wrist. The tool uses REBA Table B and adds the coupling score to obtain Score B.

Steps 7 to 12

Step 7 – Upper arm position

Select the upper-arm posture score, then apply adjustment factors where relevant.

Upper arm score: 1

Step 8 – Lower arm position

Select the lower-arm posture score.

Lower arm score: 1

Step 9 – Wrist position

Select the wrist posture and add one point if the wrist is bent from midline or twisted.

Wrist score: 1

Step 11 – Coupling score

Select the quality of hand coupling or grip.

Activity Score

Add activity points where the task involves static postures, repetition, rapid posture changes or unstable base.

Step 13

Activity scoring

Select all applicable conditions. Each selected condition adds one point to the Table C score.

Assessment notes

Record any observations that may help explain the selected posture or activity scores.

Summary and Report

Review intermediate scores, final REBA score and risk level before printing or saving the report.
