Record both pre- and post-monitoring calibration readings. Review the measurement if the difference is excessive or outside your project acceptance criterion.

4. Setup Checklist

Instrument certificate is valid and available. Acoustic calibrator certificate is valid and available. Battery level, memory and clock/date settings are checked. Microphone, cable, windscreen and mounting arrangement are checked. Measurement settings are appropriate for the survey objective. Pre-monitoring calibration is completed and recorded. Post-monitoring calibration is completed and recorded. Field notes include location, task, worker group and operating condition.
