Human Factors: Managing Human Failures by Risk Assessment

Overview
Everyone can make errors no matter how well trained and motivated they are. However, in the workplace, the consequences of such human failure can be severe. Analysis of accidents and incidents shows that human failure contributes to almost all accidents and exposures to substances hazardous to health.

This course will help learners better manage human failures in the workplace.

Objective
At the end of the course, participants will be able to recognise the different factors that leads to human failure. Learners will better understand some tools for risk assessing risk and preventing accidents due to human factors.

Who should attend?
Workplace Safety and Health professionals, engineers, line managers, person involving in risk assessments, risk assessment team members.

Course Outline

  1. Understanding Human Factors: Individual factors, Job factor and Work Organisational factors
  2. Understanding Human Failures: Types of human failures
  3. Human Factors in Risk Assessment

Certification
Attendees will be awarded a certificate of attendance in ‘Human Factors: Managing Human Failures by Risk Assessment.

This is an Institute of Ergonomics and Hygiene (IEH) accredited course.
